My baby sis just started her first semester of college at Old Dominion in Va. (we’re from Ok). Any ideas for care packages, recipes that ship well, etc? We’ll both appreciate your input and thanks in advance!
When I was in college, my mom used to include an empty prescription pill bottle filled with quarters in her care packages. The pill bottle was an easy way for her to stack the quarters, and for me to get them when needed. They came in handy for the laundromat, vending machines, etc. Always loved to get them.
She also used to send little containers of this hot tea mix. I loved having it when I was staying up late to study, or on a cool winter morning before I headed across campus.
Hot Spiced Tea Mix:
½ cup instant tea 1 ½ cups Tang
1 cup sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves 2 pkg. lemon twist
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and store in an airtight container. When ready to serve, add 2 or 3 teaspoons of mixture to a cup of hot water and
stir.
