Cereals Apple Crisp

Comments: If desired, add as much as 1/4 cup [60 mL] brown sugar with really tart apples.

Ingredients Preparation

6 cups [1.5 L] apple slices*
1 tablespoon [15 mL] lemon juice
1 cup [250 mL] apple cinnamon muesli cereals
3 tablespoons [45 mL] brown sugar
2 tablespoons [17.5 g] all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] cinnamon
1 tablespoon [15 g] butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons [30 mL] apple juice or water



Preheat oven to 375°F [190°C].
*Peel, core and thinly slice apples.
Arrange apple slices into an 8-cup [2-L] baking dish.
Sprinkle all over with lemon juice.
Into a small bowl, mix together cereals, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon.
Mix in melted fat using a fork until well mixed.
Pour in apple juice or water.
Evenly sprinkle mixture all over apple slices.
Bake into preheated oven for approximately 18 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
Lightly cover with al foil.
Bake for 10 minutes more, until apple slices are soft.
Leave to cool slightly before serving, lukewarm.
