1 c. margarine
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. almond extract
2 c. white flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 (16 oz.) can cherry pie filling

Powdered sugar
Milk
Almond extract
Cream together margarine and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well into batter. Put 2/3 of batter in bottom of a greased jelly roll pan. I use an 11 x 17 1/2 inch pan. Spread cherry filling over top. Drop remaining batter over cherries by spoonfuls. Bake 30 to 40 minutes in 350 degree oven. When slightly cooled, drip with powdered sugar icing. Other filling may be used: apple, peach, blueberry, pineapple. Vanilla extract may also be used instead of almond.
