Chess Squares

1 c. butter 1 lb. box light brown sugar 1/2 c. white sugar 4 eggs, slightly beaten 2 c. self-rising flour 1 t. vanilla 1 c. chopped pecans
Melt butter. In a large bowl combine brown and white sugar. Beat in eggs and melted butter and blend together. Add flour 1/2 c. at a time.Add vanilla, fold in pecans. Pour into a 9x9 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.
