* 1 cup water
* 1 teaspoon chili powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

When I was a kid (many moons ago) we made something similar to this except we put a hamburger patty with a slice of cheese on a bun and drenched it in the chili mac. It was the greasiest thing I ever ate but being a kid, thought it was great! There was a restaurant that specialized in it (actually I think it was one of those “greasy spoon” type diner).

Thanks for reminding me of that. I’m sure that your version is a lot healthier. Back then we didn’t think so much of things like that. Who knew?
