Chili’s Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers

A flavorful, sweet and spicy plate chicken tenders – lip-smackin’ good!

Begin with the Honey-Chipotle Sauce – place all ingredients in small saucepan; heat to boiling; reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes; remove from heat and set aside.
2/3 cup honey
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 teaspoons ground chipotle
1/2 teaspoon salt
Prepare your deep fryer – 350* F.

Next prepare your batter by combining and whisking well:
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Use a shallow dish for this – when salt has totally dissolved, whisk in:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Mix well and set aside.

Combine all your breading ingredients in another shallow dish:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

10 to 12 chicken tenderloins will be used for this recipe

Be sure to check fryer temp – 350*F.
Dip each piece of chicken into the batter; allow excess to drip off; transfer to breading and coat completely. Set aside for a few minutes after coating. Fry without crowding until cooked through and golden – 4 to 5 minutes depending on the size of the chicken. Drain on paper towels.
Transfer to large glass or stainless bowl and pour sauce over chicken; gently tossing to coat with sauce.
