Chocolate Carmel Nut Bars
1 pk 14 oz caramels,48
1 cn 5oz evaporated milk, divided
1 pkg 2 layer size,german chocolate cake mix with pudding
1/2 c Margarine or butter, melted
1 1/2 c Walnuts,chopped and divided
1 c Semi-sweet real chocolate chips, divided
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup of the milk in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. set aside. Mix remaining milk, cake mix, and margarine or butter in large bowl. Press 1/2 of the cake mixture onto the bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake 8 min. sprinkle 1 cup of walnuts and 1/2 cup of chips over crust, top with carmel mixture, spreading to edges of pan. Top with teaspoons of remaining cake mixture, press gently into carmel mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup walnuts and 1/2 cup chips. Bake 18 min. cool, cut into bars.
