Cocoa 'Lasses Cake
2 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2/3 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
5 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup light molasses
1 cup thick sour cream
Sift flour, salt and soda together. Blend shortening, vanilla and cocoa, add sugar and cream until fluffy. Beat in eggs and molasses. Add dry ingredients and milk alternatley, beting well after each addition.
Pour into greased pan and bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes. Makes 1 (10x10 inch) cake.
