Coney dogs

Hi I’m new to the forum and with summer on it’s way I thought I’d share my favorite gog sauce recipe.

Coney dog sauce

1/2 cup Hambuger, browned

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/2 tsp salt

pepper to taste

cayenne pepper to taste

2 tblspn brown sugar

1 cup ketchup

1/2 cup water

2 tblspn cyder vinegar

1/2 cup lemon juice (one place that i think the real lemon in a bottle works well)

3 tblspn worcestershire sauce

1/2 tblspn prepared mustard (any kind is ok)

1/2 cup chopped celery

Combine ingreadiants in a 3 qrt sauce pan. bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer and cook

until it is the thickness of ketchup (about 1 hour), stiring occasionally.

serve on hotdogs with thinly sliced kosher dill pickle and chopped onion, on the best Hotdog roll you can find.

by the way go ahead and make a double batch, it freezes great.
