Consumer Reports French Dressing

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon tomato paste
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
7 Tablespoons salad oil
3 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons water
1/2 teaspoon finely chopped onion

Combine mustard, pepper, tomato paste and,
if desired, salt and sugar.
Add oil, vinegar and water – alternately and
a bit at a time – beating until thick.
Then add the chopped onion.

You can also put all the ingredients in a jar
and shake well before using.
