COOKING FOR A CROWD - FRENCH DRESSING - THICK
2 pounds granulated sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
4 teaspoons dry mustard
2 tablespoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons onion juice
1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
1 quart salad oil
Combine sugar and seasonings in mixer bowl, using wire whip attachment.
Add vinegar. Mix well.
Add oil gradually in small amounts. Beat well after each addition.
Yield: 2 quarts
Notes: If a French Dressing of usual consistency is desired, use only 8 oz of sugar.
Celery Seed Dressing. Add 2 oz celery seed.
Poppy Seed Dressing. Add 1 oz poppy seed.
