Cornmeal Dumplings

Cornmeal Dumplings

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons bacon drippings

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Drop teaspoons of
the cornmeal dumpling batter into boiling soup stock, cover and
allow to simmer until cooked through, about 10 - 15 minutes.
