Country Ham and Red Eye Gravy

1 - 2 Ham slices 1/4" thick
4 T. brewed, black coffee
1/2 tsp. sugar

Fry ham quickly in an ungreased hot skillet for a couple of minutes on each side.

Remove ham from skillet and set aside.

To the hot fat remaining, add black coffee and sugar. Stir to dissolve sugar, cover and simmer for a couple of minutes.

Pour the gravy over the ham slices.

Serve the ham with grits and hot biscuits.
