Does anyone know where I can get a recipe for Crab Rangoons that they have inthe chinese buffets?
I am not sure of the exact measurement’s as my wife and I experiment to get the taste as close as possible, butyou start with:
1 8oz. package crab meat (real or imitation)
5 green onion’s, chopped (stem’s and bulb)
1 8oz. pkg. of cream cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 Tbsp. pineapple juice
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
dash pepper (optional)
Premade (store bought) Won Ton Wrapper’s
small bowl of water
Oil fo frying
Cream in a food processor, crab meat till finely chopped. Add green onion, and continue to mix till onion look’s like confetti. Add cream cheese till soft and creamy. Add remaing ingredient’s and mix till combined. Lay out one won ton wrapper at a time (as they dry out quickly) and wet corner’s with water to moisten, using finger. Place 1 tsp to 1 Tbsp of filling to each won ton and fold over to seal corner’s. Place on plate with out letting touch as they will stick together. Fry in oil till golden brown . Enjoy!
Note:As you learn to work with the wonton wrapper’s. you will learn what amount you can add without ripping them. You can also place wrapper over hand while making hole with thumb and finger . Place won ton wrapper over hole (after having moistened corner’s with water)pressing a small indent into won ton to hold filling, and add filling (about 1 1/2 tsp.) and bring side’s of won ton up and gently roll/pinch side’s to form a “pouch” and fry till golden.
Thank you. I will be sure to give it a try.
