CREAM SOUP SUBSTITUTE MIX
This mix makes enough to equal 9 to 10 cans. For mushroom or celery
soup, add chopped sautÃ©ed mushrooms or celery while cooking.
2 C. dry milk
3/4 C. cornstarch
1/4 C. chicken bouillon granules
2 T. onion flakes, if desired
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. basil and/or oregano (optional)
1/2 tsp. marjoram (optional)
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 to 3 tsp. margarine
Mix all together and store in an airtight container.
To use, mix 1/2 cup dry soup mix with 1 1/4 cup water and cook until
thick; add margarine. This is equal to one can cream soup.
