Crock Pot Pinto Beans
I start them the night before, then add the other ingredients and start the crock pot before I go to work in the morning. I cook Black eye peas the same way, omitting the chili powder.
1 lb. Dried Pinto Beans
2 Tbs. Dried Onion Flakes
2 Beef Bullion Cubes
1 tsp. Salt
1 Tbs. Chili Powder
Wash beans in several changes of water, removing undesirable beans. Soak the beans overnight (I have heard this takes out the gas, does anyone know?) The next morning drain and rinse the beans and cover with water 2 inches above the top of the beans. Add the onion flakes, Bullion, Chili Powder and Salt. Cook on Low for 8 hours.
