Split Pea Soup
1bag Dry Split Peas (any Color)
1 Spiral Ham Bone Or Bone Pieces
1 cup Fresh Carrots
½ Cup Potato Flakes Or Any Other Cooked Potato [if Your
Potato Is Raw, Peel & Cube And Add To Pot]
1 Can Vegetable Broth
4 Cups Water
Pinch Black Pepper
1 small Can Tender Sweet Peas
Cooked Rice Or Small Pasta (optional)
Grated Cheese
Rinse And Soak Dry Peas In Hot Water For About 20 Minutes. Look For Any Rocks.
Combine All Ingredients Except Potato Flakes In Large Pot, Cover, And Bring To A Boil. Simmer And Cook For About 35-40 Minutes Half Covered [or until peas start to break up]{stirring About Every Ten Minutes}.
Remove cover and simmer about 10 minutes. Add Potato If still Too Loose And Cook About 10 More Minutes.
Remove Bone and all ham pieces And Use Blender Or Emulsifier To Combine All Ingredients. Shred Ham Off The Bone And Put Back In Soup.
Sprinkle With Grated Cheese To Taste
