DEPRESSION ERA OLD-FASHIONED TOMATO SOUP
Fresh, canned or frozen tomatoes used in this recipe produces a light delicious soup andyone can be proud to serve. Care must be taken in combining the milk with the acid tomatoes to keep it from curdling.
Heat a qt. of tomates (pour some liquid off)
Add: 1/2 t. soda
Heat: 2 c. milk
Add: salt, pepper and butter
Pour hot tomatoes slowly into hot milk and serve with soda crackers.
