EASY CHEESE ROLLS
MAKES 1 DOZEN

2 c. sifted flour
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 jar (5 oz.) sharp process American cheese spread
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. shortening or 1/3 stick
2 T. sugar
1 t. salt
1 egg

In mixing bowl, combine 1 c. flour and yeast. Heat cheese spread, water, shortening, sugar, and salt just till warm (115* F. -120* F.), stirring till shortening almost melts; add to dry mixture. Add egg. Beat low speed for 1/2 minute, scraping bowl. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. By hand, stir in remaining flour. Turn out onto floured surface. Shape into 12 rolls; place in well-greased muffin pans. Let rise till nearly double in size, 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Preheat oven to 350* F; bake rolls for 15 to 18 minutes.
