Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff [stove + microwave]
2/3 cup [160 mL] light salad dressing 4 tablespoons [35 g] flour 2 cups [500 mL] milk [1%] 1 pound [454 g] extra lean ground beef 1 sliced onion, into rings 1 cup [250 mL] quartered fresh mushrooms 1 teaspoon [5 mL] thyme 1/4 cup [60 mL] dry red wine 2 tablespoons [30 mL] freshly chopped parsley 2 tablespoons [30 mL] Worcestershire sauce Hot boiled rice for 4 Mix together salad dressing and flour; gently whisk in milk, until smooth. Cook on the stove over medium heat stirring until thick, or microwave into a bowl on 'HIGH' for 3 to 4 minutes stirring once. Into a frypan, brown together ground beef, onion rings and mushroom pieces sprinkled with thyme. Drain; add meat mixture to sauce. Gently stir in dry red wine, freshly chopped parsley and Worcestershire sauce. Cook on the stove over medium heat until flavours blend, or microwave on 'MEDIUM' for 10 minutes. Serve, over hot boiled rice.
