EASY NO-KNEAD BREAD
MAKES 4 LOAVES

5 c. warm water (110* - 115* F.)
2 pkgs. (1/4 ounce each) dry yeast
1/2 c. sugar or honey
1/2 c. shortening or 1/2 stick
2 T. plus 2 t. salt
12 c. flour
Melted butter or margarine

Pour warm water into large bowl; add yeast; stir until dissolved. Add sugar, shortening, salt and half the flour. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Add remaining flour; stir in with spoon. Cover; let rise about 1 hour. Spoon into 4 greased 9 X5 X3-inch loaf pans. Cover; let rise again about 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 375* F. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from pans immediately; brush with melted butter and cool on racks.
Loaves may also be baked in small pans for about 30 minutes. Makes up to 7 loaves.
