Eating on a Busy Schedule ( Diabetes )
An unpredictable or busy work schedule can put a major crimp in your regular eating schedule. If you’re worried about swings in your blood glucose levels, try eating as close to your regular mealtimes as possible.
Carrying easy-to-eat foods with you, such as trail mix or carrots, can also help. Then you can satisfy your hunger without pushing your blood glucose levels too high. You can also check your blood glucose before you eat a snack or meal. If your blood glucose is high, you don’t need to eat unless you’re hungry. If you eat a snack to tide you over, try to eat a little less at your next meal.
Focus on eating reasonable servings and try to avoid sweets. Finally, if you find yourself eating at an odd time, try to work in some exercise after your meal to help burn off a few of the calories. This will also keep your blood glucose levels closer to normal.
