Core 8 baseball size apples - no need to peel
Cut in chunks. Cook in 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup cider over covered low heat until soft. Blend all in blender. For each quart, add 2 cups of sugar, 1 tp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp cloves. Add to cooked apples.
Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until butter is thick enough to spread (about 35-40 min).
Keep apple butter hot and sterile jars hot. Fill jars 1/2" from top. Put hot lid on. Turn upside down on towel for 5 minutes. Turn right side up and let stand until sealed. (lids make a popping sound). If one doesn’t pop, refrigerate/eat first.
