Favorite Ginger Bread
1/2 c. shortening
2 tbsp sugar
1 egg
1 c. molasses
1 c. boiling water
2 1/4 c. all purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon

Beat shortening, sugar and egg together. Add molasses and boiling water. Add all dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9" square pan. Bake at 325° for 45-50 minutes.
