I love McDonalds’s Shamrock Shakes, only available for a few months every year.
I had a good shake recently from a local juice bar. It was made up of mango, pineapple, banana and coconut milk. I don’t know the exact amounts used but it was delicious. Well worth a try at home.
Of butterscotch and chocolate. I had a chocolate shake from Sonic’s a few days ago.Avocado, mango, and strawberries. It was the last time a month ago had one.
Seldom have shakes but if I do, it’s a chocolate one. It’s all about chocolate…although a few years ago I had an orange dream type from Arby’s. KW, any idea how to change one of your fab recipes into the orange dream one??? Thanks!

When I was a kid we used to get triple chocolate shakes - chocolate milk, chocolate ice cream and chocolate syrup. I was in heaven whenever my mother would ask me to go to the malt shop.
After church on Sundays we would go to the soda fountain/grill and order coke and toast that cost 25 cents which was the minimum we had to spend to sit in a booth. Cherry cokes were a big splurge because they cost a penny more than plain coke. Whoopie!
Ah! You see, you are younger than I am. We paid 5 cents for regular coke and 6 cents for cherry coke.
I don’t remember the cost of comic books. I remember I paid 14 cents for the movies; 2 movies, newsreel, cartoons and previews. I would get 25 cents to go to the movies. There was a candy store next to the movie where I would buy a small box of popcorn for 6 cents and a Holloway sucker to last through the movies for 5 cents.
I never got to buy new comic books, but would go to the farmers market and buy used for 2cents each.
In my 20’s, I tried to figure out how to make those great milkshakes that all the drug stores made at their soda fountains. Turns out they used powdered agar as a thickener, so they could use less ice cream. Never found a source to buy the agar.
But BOY, they sure were good.
I watched the guy make my triple chocolate shake and he only used three ingredients; chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk and chocolate syrup, no agar. But remember the milk was not homogenized and the ice cream had a high butterfat content. That’s what made the difference.
Topic is so sweet. Shakes are best for health and weakness.
My favorite shakes are:
Still I love Mango Shake… It is the best.
