Fresh Berry Syrup

Try serving this delicious syrup warm over pancakes, waffles, or French toast

fresh blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, or raspberries - 1 cup
unsweetened apple juice - 1/2 cup
cornstarch or arrowroot powder - 1 1/2 tsp
sugar - 3 tbsp
lemon peel, grated - 1/2 tsp
lemon juice - 1 tbsp

  1. Puree the berries with the apple juice. Transfer to a saucepan and add the cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Cook over medium heat until bubbly. Add in the sugar, lemon peel, and lemon juice.
