fresh cherry pie.

I was out at a upick yesterday,the berries werent ready so picked baking cherries.Not sure how to use them asked the owners for help.This is her cherry pie recipe.
8-10 cups cherries(pit removed)
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 half cup corn starch
1quater cup lemon juice
1tsp.almond flavouring
Mix cornstarch sugar and water,stir until well mixed.Pour over cherries in sauce pan and let sit 10mins. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Stir carefully so you don’t break cherries.Reduce heat and simmer 5 mins.
Juice should be transparent.
This filling may appear thin but will thicken as it cools.
Also used for tart filling. Hope you enjoy as we did
