FRESH CRANBERRY SAUCE
MAKES ABOUT 2 C.
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 pkg. (12 oz.) fresh cranberries
1 T. grated orange rind
1 T. orange liqueur or juice
Â¼ c. chopped pecans or sliced almonds, toasted (optional)
Bring sugar and water to boil; add cranberries, rind and juice; return to boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. If desired, stir in nuts. Cover and chill 1 hour or until firm.
