Frozen Peanut Butter Cups

Have to try this recipe…it’s truly unbelievable!

1 pkg. ( 12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
2 Tbs. vegetable shortening
1 qt. vanilla ice cream, softened
1 c. creamy peanut butter
4 Butterfinger candy bars ( 2.1 oz. each ) coarsely crushed

Place 12 paper baking cups into muffin cups. In a small saucepan, heat the chocolate and shortening over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring just until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth. Allow to cool slightly; the mixture should still be pourable. Starting at the top edge of each paper cup, spoon the chocolate over the insides of the cups, completely covering the inside of each cup with about 4 tsp. of the mixture. Chill the cups until firm, about 30 minutes. In a large bowl, combine the ice cream, peanut butter and crushed candy bard; mix well. Spoon evenly into the chocolate cups. Cover and freeze for at least 2 hrs. or until firm.
