This is a simple recipe that can be prepared after dinner and served with a good coffee. Ideal for all fans of simple desserts that are made while digesting dinner. Serve along with peppermint stick ice cream for the Holidays.

1 [1-ounce / 28-g] square unsweetened chocolate 1/2 cup [115 g] softened butter 1 cup [200 g] sugar 2 eggs 1/2 cup [70 g] flour 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped nuts [pecans are delicious] Preheat oven to 350°F [180°F]. Grease a 9-inch [23-cm] pie plate. Melt chocolate square int the top part of double boiler or in a thick-bottom saucepan. Remove from heat. Well beat together softened butter, sugar, and eggs before mixing into melted chocolate. Slowly add flour, beating until just mixed. Stir in vanilla and chopped nuts. Bake into preheated oven, for 25 minutes. Top will crack slightly.
