Garlic Bread

Garlic Bread

Here’s proof that simpler is better. For a delightful variation that goes well with roasted pork or turkey, substitute crumbled dried sage leaves for the oregano.

Number of Servings: 12
Serving Size: 2 slices

extra-virgin olive oil - 4 tbsp
unsalted margarine or butter, melted - 2 tbsp
garlic cloves, minced - 2
dried oregano - 1/2 tsp
seasoned salt - 1/4 tsp
1-lb loaf Italian or French bread, cut into 24 1/2-inch slices - 1

1 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

2 In a small bowl, combine the oil, butter, garlic, oregano, and salt. Brush the mixture on one side of each bread slice, then press the slices back together to form a loaf. Wrap the loaf in foil and bake until hot in the center, 15-20 minutes.
