Easy Garlic Green Beans like my Italian Grandma’s

2 cans whole green beans (I use Del Monte brand)
1 Tbsp. minced fresh garlic (or more to taste)
2-3 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp. salt
10-12 grinds freshly-ground black pepper, or more to taste

  1. Heat skillet until fairly hot.
  2. Add olive oil.
  3. Once oil is heated but not smoking, add minced garlic. Cook garlic for about 1 minute, until edges start to brown. (Don’t over-brown garlic).
  4. Add drained and rinsed green beans to skillet. Saute until beans are just heated through. Add salt and pepper. Saute 1 minute longer and serve.
