Pork chops in onion sauce German- style
4 pork chops
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 tsp flour
1 1/2 tbls veg. or Olive oil
4 sml (or 2 med.) onions, thinly sliced
3/4 cup beer
3//4 cup hot beef broth
2- 3 tsp cornstarch
Season pork with salt and pepper, coat with flour. Heat oil in heavy-frypan. Add chops; fry each side 3 minutes. Add onions; cook 5 minutes, turning chops once. Pour in beer and broth; cover. Simmer 15 mins. Remove chops to preheated platter.
Mix cornstarch with small amount of cold water. Stir into sauce; cook until thick and bubbly. Season sauce to taste.
Pour over pork. Yield 4 servings.
Use any beer you like … Don’t cook with anything you wouldn’t drink!!!
