Green and Gold Chowder
1 cup green split peas, rinsed
1 Tbs vegetable base
4 cups water
1 cup cream-style corn
1/4 cup chopped onion or 1 Tbs. instant chopped onion
1/2 cup fresh chopped cilantro
Combine peas, vegetable base, and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 45 minutes, or until peas are tender.
Stir in corn and onion and simmer another 10 minutes or until onions are tender.
Stir in the chopped cilantro just before serving
