Greetings and a Recipe Question

Hello, All,

My name is Josh Mandel. I’m an avid home cook, father of a 7-year-old girl, and I’m thrilled to be here. I’ve made many recipes from the “America’s Most Wanted Recipes” book series…and have had nothing but success.

…'til now, anyway. Has anyone made the “Cold Stone Creamery Slab Cake Batter Ice Cream” from the “Just Desserts” edition of AMWR? If so, I have a question. The batter – essentially 4 cups of cream and milk, and a half-cup of cake mix – isn’t anywhere near “scoopable.” It’s liquid.

Is there a mistake in the recipe, by any chance? It doesn’t seem likely that a half-cup of any cake mix is going to make 4 cups of liquid cohesive enough to be scooped and frozen.

Thank you!
Josh
