Grilled Salmon with a Twist

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 garlic cloves minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 to 3 Salmon steaks 1" thick

In a small saucepan, combine the ingredients except the salmon. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. Meanwhile grill the salmon for about 5 minutes on medium hot heat. Turn salmon over baste with the butter sauce. Grill 7 to 9 minutes turning and basteing salmon occasionally. Salmon is done when it flakes easly with a fork.

Note: I really love this sauce and have found it works good also as a dipping sauce for grilled steak. I make it up and keep it in a air tight container and pull it from frig, heat it up and walla it’s good to go. Keeps in frig for a week or so.
