Hamburger Spanish Rice

This one is always a favorite hit in my crowd!

Hamburger Spanish Rice

1 lb hamburger
1 chopped green or yellow bell pepper
1 chopped yellow onion
1 can tomato sauce
1 cup raw rice
salt & pepper to taste
1 tsp. Greek Seasoning (in spice aisle)
1 tbs. chili powder or to taste more or less
1/2 tsp garlic powder or fresh crushed garlic
2 1/2 c. water

Brown hamburger, bell pepper and onion together. Drain any fat from pan. Add rice, tomato sauce, water and seasonings and stir. Cover and simmer over low heat for 20 to 30 minutes until rice is tender and water is mostly absorbed. (You may need to add a little more water if rice is too al-dente.) Serve and enjoy!
