Healthy Eating

I just joined the forum today. I’m really excited to share what I have to offer and also see what other people are posting.

A little bit about me. I’m going to be graduating college soon, with a degree in human nutrition. And I’ve noticed that people still think that healthy food is flavorless.

I’ve also met a lot of people who don’t realize their value. People come up to me and tell me about their dieting failures all the time. I’ve been there.

I have a desire to see smiling faces where ever I go. I think everyone deserves to be happy, and I think self confidence is everyone’s right. I believe it starts with taking care of yourself, and I can’t think of a better starting point than food.

So I created this blog, and I’m on a mission to share recipes that I’ve come up with that are 1.) Delicious and 2.) Healthy.

In my opinion Vegetarian diet is most nutrition for people. Milk, fresh vegetables and fruits are good for human. It can be good for digest. Beans, pulses and dry fruits are also benefited for man.

Welcome to the forum. You will find many recipes here, some healthy and some not quite so healthy. I don’t think flavor has anything to do with how healthy food is. Of course fat is what makes beef taste so good, but spices can be used to make anything more flavorful. At our home we eat a lot of vegetables, fruit, fish and chicken, but we also eat steaks, roast, pork chops and ham. Moderation in the fatty and high calorie foods is our ‘rule of thumb’. We never fry any meat, it is always cooked on a grill. Vegetables are often steamed or grilled, depending on the vegetable.

Healthy eating is not about strict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, and keeping yourself as healthy as possible– all of which can be achieved by learning some nutrition basics and using them in a way that works for you.
Healthy eating begins with learning how to “eat smart”—it’s not just what you eat, but how you eat. Your food choices can reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well as defend against depression. Additionally, learning the habits of healthy eating can improve your health by boosting your energy, sharpening your memory and stabilizing your mood. Expand your range of healthy food choices and learn how to plan ahead to create and maintain a satisfying, healthy diet.

For healthy eating I prefer to eat green leaf vegetables and juice of the fruits. As the alternate I prefer to eat boil eggs which gives the better protein. Another thing is that I like to eat dryfruits early in the morning after the exercise.

I haven’t always been a “healthy cook”. But now I have started watching how I fix foods and not just the food itself.
We have been eating a lot more fiber foods. ( no they don’t all taste like cardboard!)… Tons of vegetables and fruits. The diabetic specialist that just moved in down the road and is working with my husband and I on trying to get him off all insulin, Has told us to eat some type of Bean everyday. I love it. But hubby is getting pretty tried of the beans. We are not vegetarians but I have cut back on the amount of meat we eat.
Looking forward to getting to know you.

According to my knowledge vegetarian food is good for health. It provide good vitamin and easy to digest. So vegetarian food are healthy eating food. Milk, pulse, vegetable, fruit give vitamin and no side effect.

I would caution anyone who decides to become a vegetarian to consult a dietitian or research it online. It is not just a matter of stopping to eat meat. You have to be sure to get enough protein. For example, rice and beans is a complete protein.

Healthy eating is the amount of food you eat. Don’t eat a lot of food in one meal no matter what you are eating-either it is bake, steam,or grilled. Eat what you want but in “portion” only.
