Hearty Beef Soup

4 lbs. boneless beef sirloin steak, cut in 1 inch cubes 4 c. chopped onions 1/4 c. butter 4 qts. water 4 c. sliced carrots 4 c. cubed potatoes 2 c. chopped cabbage 1 c. chopped celery 1 green pepper, chopped 8 t. beef bouillon granules 1 T. seasoned salt 1 t. pepper 4 bay leaves 6 c. tomato juice
In 2 dutch ovens or very large soup pot brown beef and onionsin butter. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, reduce to simmer and cook for 1 hr. or until meat and veggies are tender. Discard bay leaves. Makes 32 servings

Very good recipe to make when you have a little extra time to divide up and freeze for cold nights when time is short.
