Hellish Relish

1 cup vinegar
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon mustard seed
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 coarsely chopped onion
4 1/2 cups jalapeno peppers, chopped or cut into rounds

Bring all ingredients to a boil, stirring often. When the peppers have changed color but are still crunchy, they are ready to put in sterilized jars. Seal while hot. This recipe makes 4 1/2 pints when doubled.
