Homemade Febreeze

Homemade Febreeze

2 cups fabric softener
2 cups baking soda
4 cups warm water
1 cup Vodka

Combine ingredients.

Vodka breaks down odors and because of the alcohol, it evaporates quickly so everything dries faster.

(For those of you who use Febreeze and try this recipe, let us know how it works.) 8)

GREAT TIP… Thanks Aline…!

Hi again Aline!!! Quick question regarding the home style Febreeze. I understand the Vodka acts as an evaporant. Since the alcohol in the Vodka is ethyl alcohol ( fit for human consumption), could standard rubbing alcohol (denatured…unfit for human consumption) be used. It would help to reserve the more expensive version (Vodka) …but I’m wondering if not only if it could be substituted… is there an inherant risk in fabric color bleeding? I wouldn’t think so, but just thought I’d ask. Once again…it is a great tip! Regards,

Hi b-man!

In response to your questions, I don’t know and I don’t know.

I found this recipe in my collection but have never tried it since I don’t use Febreeze. I don’t know if you can substitute the vodka with rubbing alcohol. I, too, was wondering if the alcohol reacts to fabric. Maybe the rubbing alcohol would react and that’s why you have to use Vodka - less potent. If someone does decide to try this recipe, maybe test it on a piece of fabric first; and let us know how it works.

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

4 ice cubes
1 cup buttermilk

Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
