Honey Barbecue Sauce for Chicken
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 medium onion, diced (about 1 cup)
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat; add onion, and sauté 4 to 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in ketchup and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Store left over sauce in refrigerator up to 1 week.
Makes about 2 cups
