Honey Nut Chess Bars

1 1/4 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. chopped pecans
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 eggs
2 T. honey

Heat oven to 350°.

In a small mixer bowl combine flour, sugar and 1/2 c. softened butter. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often until mixture resembles coarse crumbs, 1 - 2 minutes. By hand, stir in the 1/4 c. pecans. Press on bottom of 9- inch square pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.

Meanwhile combine brown sugar, 1/2 c. chopped pecans, melted butter, eggs and honey. Mix well. Pour over hot partially baked crust. Continue baking 25 - 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and cut into bars.
