I need ideas for 4th grade class Christmas party

If anybody has done anything cute for their child’s Christmas party, please help me out with some ideas. I need food ideas and craft ideas. I think we only have an hour for the party so nothing too involved. Thanks for your help!

hi uspatriot,

i went to www.kraftcanada.com and then keyed in ‘kids’ in the search field. quite a few recipes there with kid appeal.

Hi USPATRIOT,

This is a good party favor that you would have to make prior to because of the glue gun…might be too dangerous for the kids, not to mention that you would need many guns due to time constraints.

Take a large pack of “Big Red” gum
Glue four peppermints as wheels
Glue one caramel on top rear of gum
Glue one “Hershey’s” Kiss on top front
Keep wrappers on all candy

It’s a cute train.

Paper Plate Wreath

This project consist mostly of cutting and glueing. To save some time, for steps 3, 4, and 5, you can have the bow and leaf already drawn on the construction paper - ready for the kids to just cut out, and eliminate the bell on the soft material. This project is fast and the kids can decorate their home or class with the finished product.

Pink pom pom balls can be bought at the dollar store, and they don’t have to be pink. Or if you don’t have the pom pom balls, just have the kids dab a little glue here and there on the green tissue on the wreath and sprinkle with some glitter and shake off (gently) the excess glitter. Anything goes at this stage!

List of Materials :

-green tissue paper
-red and green construction paper
-pink pom pom balls
-soft yellow material
-white glue
-large paper plate
-scissors

Directions

  1. First, cut the inside of the paper plate to create the wreath.
  2. Tear pieces of green tissue paper, squash them, and glue it all around the paper plate.
  3. Draw a bow on red construction paper and trace it with a black marker. Cut it out and glue it at the top of the wreath.
  4. Draw a leaf on green construction paper and trace it with a black marker. Cut it out and glue it on the wreath.
  5. Draw a bell on the soft material and cut it out. Glue it on the wreath.
  6. Glue the pink pom pom balls (about 5-6 of them) all around the wreath.
