Indian Curry Chicken

Indian Curry Chicken

A spicy tomato-based chicken curry infused with flavors of spices such as fenugreek, cumin, coriander, ginger and garlic. It may be served with naan or rice.


1 - 1.5 lbs skinless chicken thighs
1 medium onion
3 cloves garlic
1/2 inch ginger
1 red jalapeno
1 green jalapeno (optional)
1 habanero (optional)
1 1/2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp fenugreek
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 can sliced tomato
3 tbsp yogurt or sour cream
1 tbsp lime juice
salt to taste
2-3 tbsp oil


  1. Mix all spice powders and set aside.
  2. Cut onion, garlic, ginger, and chilli peppers into thin slices.
  3. Fry above ingredients in oil until slightly brown
  4. Cool slightly and place into food processor.
  5. Grind until fine. Place back into pan and add spice mixture and stir frequently.
  6. Add chicken pieces. Brown on both sides.
  7. Add canned tomato into pan.
  8. Add yogurt to pan.
  9. Let simmer until chicken is cooked through.
  10. Add lime juice and salt to taste.
  11. Serve warm over rice.
