Ingredients:
1/2 cup soft shortening
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup thick applesauce
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup walnuts
Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs, and applesauce. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir dry mixture into wet mixture. Fold in nuts. Pour into lightly greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes. Cool ten minutes and remove from pan. Cool on
rack.
