Italian Beef and Mushroom Skillet

1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
2 cups sliced mushrooms (5 oz.)
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 jar or can (14-15 oz.) pizza sauce
1-1/2 cups uncooked medium pasta shells (4 oz.)
1-1/2 cups water
1 tsp. sugar (optional)
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
3/4 cup shredded Italian-style four-cheese blend (3 oz.)

Cook beef. onion, mushrooms and garlic in a large skillet, over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in pizza sauce, pasta, water, sugar and Italian seasoning. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and simmer about 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Yield: 6 servings
