Italian White Cookies
Cream together:
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. sour cream
1 Tbsp. lemon extract
In a seperate bowl mix together:
3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Add dry mix to butter mix. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack and spoon lemon glaze over cookies and let dry.
Lemon Icing*
1 pound (2 cups) confectioners’ sugar
6 tablespoons lemon juice
In a medium bowl, whisk sugar and lemon juice together until smooth. Spoon onto cooled cookies, and spread evenly with the back of a spoon. Let stand on a cooling rack until the glaze is set, about 1 hour.
