1/2 cup pineapple juice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup Jack Daniel’s Whiskey
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Dip meat in sauce and place on grill over hot coals. When meat is turned, brush with sauce. Grill to desired degree of doneness. Just before meat is removed from grill, brush again with sauce. Makes enough for 8 servings.
Mmm, the pineapple juice in this sounds so sweet and refreshing! --Bet it would be wonderful with pork and chicken! Thanks for the recipe, can’t wait to try it!
In Hawaii-this is most delicious and so applicable what with the pineapple juice. For dietary reasons, I used the lower sodium soy sauce Islanders always have garlic bulbs on hand which I used 3 smashed cloves instead of the powder which we don’t have on hand as a rule. Thanks for this recipe. When I added the Jack Daniels-which my family also has on hand generally, they formed a line to get their portions and wanted seconds!
The sauce sounds yummy in the basic way, however when I make it I add a little extra soy, some brown sugar and fresh ginger to the mix for a kicked up teriyaki-type sauce.
