LAKSTINOS - a Lithuanian recipe
Use these homemade noodles in soups and casseroles, or serve them warm with butter and parsley!
4 c. flour
7 T. water
1 t. salt
Beat eggs; gradually add flour; mix in water and salt. **
Knead gently on floured surface until the consistency of pie dough. Roll flat and let dough dry for several hours.
When dry, but still slightly flexible, cut into preferred sizes and shapes. Boil in salted water for 15 minutes or until done.
**Unless your like me and you place your flour directly on your clean table/countertop and make a well in the center; crack your eggs in the center and using a fork, start to beat the eggs, incorporating the flour from around the center of the well until a soft dough forms. Finish blending in the flour with your hands. Knead as directed above.
I prefer the old-fashioned way compared to using a bowl!
